SuJok Therapy and Onnuri Medicine is based on the principle that the bodyis represented in the hands and feet. (Correspondence) Hence whatever is in the body has to be found in the hand or the foot—whether it is a body part, organ, meridian or charka, etc. Sometimes treatment is given at the correspondence level. Here we use
needles ( Acupuncture), micro magnets, soft laser, burning of herbs (Moxibustion), massage (Acupressure) ,etc at the pertinent point.
The next level of treatment is the 5-element principle. The body is made up of the five elements which create certain energies which are in a state of dynamic equilibrium.When any one or more of these energies vary beyond a certain range, disease is created in the body. Treatment consists of re-establishing a harmonious equilibrium thus restoring health. Sujok
SuJok is a type of therapy which is carried out only on the hands and feet — hence the name Su Jok (Su means hand and Jok means foot in Korean). Basic Analogy of Hand and Feet
The thumb corresponds to the head and neck. The index finger of the right hand and the little finger of the left hand correspond to the right arm. The little finger of the right hand and the index finger of the left hand correspond to the left arm. The middle finger of the right hand and the ring finger of the left hand correspond to the right leg. The ring finger of the right hand and the middle finger of the left hand correspond to the left leg. The ball of the thumb corresponds to the chest and the palm as a whole is related to the abdomen.
This is based on the same principles as the system of analogy on the hand. The true meaning of life can be understood when one’s spirit is tranquil and body is in good health. However, due to various reasons we suffer from some ailment or the other.

Sujok Origin
The first information on acupuncture date from the period of finding stone needles (3,000 BC) that are now a days property of the Korean National Museum and the only direct proof of the assumption that ancient Korea must have been one of acupuncture cradles. There is a written record based on these investigations, which is at the same time the oldest medical book in the world, the book Nei Ching. In translation it means a stone needle and it originates from east part of China.
In 1986, South Korean scientist Prof. Park, Jae Woo, who after many years of careful observation and clinical experience developed a new system of therapy using only the hands and feet to effect the same results as body acupuncture. Prof. Park Jae Woo of Seoul, a well- known researcher and scientist, developed a unique method of treatment, which he named Su Jok Therapy. Based on the traditional approaches of Acupuncture, Su Jok is more highly evolved, easy to use, effective and invaluable.
He found a complete correspondence system representing the whole body, on the hands and the feet. In Korean, Su means “Hand,” and Jok means “Feet.” It employs no forbidden or dangerous points
By finding the “pressure-pain” points on the hand and foot that correspond to the pain in the body, it is possible to stimulate these points of correspondence using a variety of techniques to cure the pain or health problem in question. Su Jok therapist claim when the precise correspondence points are found and stimulated, there is almost always an immediate response of the patient within seconds to a few minutes.
